Statoil declares option for Havila’s PSV

Norwegian oil company Statoil has declared six months option for the Havila Shipping-owned platform supplier, the Havila Foresight.

The Norwegian offshore vessel provider said in an Oslo Stock Exchange filing on Thursday that this option will keep the vessel working until January 1, 2018.

By that time, the vessel will have been working for Statoil for ten years, mainly out of Mongstad base.

The one-year contract with four optional periods, six months each, under which the PSV is now working for Statoil was awarded in June 2016. With the option exercised now, there remain three more options.

The  93.6 meters long Havila Foresight is of an MT 6010MkII design, built in 2008.

Earlier this week, Havila also secured work for two of its other platform suppliers, the Havila Clipper and Havila Borg.
