Statoil Replaces Navion Saga with Europa

Statoil Petroleum AS (Statoil) has received consent to use Navion Europa Floating Storage & Offloading Unit as a replacement for Navion Saga on the Volve field while Navion Saga undergoes main classification along shore.

The Volve oil field was developed using a jack-up process and drilling facility – Mærsk Inspirer – and a ship – Navion Saga – for storage of stabilised oil. The oil is exported from Volve by tankers.

From August until the end of October, Navion Saga will be taken out of service for classing/yard stay.

The PSA has granted Statoil consent to use Navion Europa as a temporary replacement for Navion Saga.

Navion Europa has also been used as a replacement on Volve on two previous occasions.
