Statoil to use ‘Floatel Superior’ on Valemon

Statoil has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to use the Floatel Superior mobile accommodation facility as a flotel for the Valemon field.

Statoil to use 'Floatel Superior' on Valemon

Floatel Superior was completed in March 2010 at Keppel FELS shipyard, Singapore. The facility is operated by Floatel International AB (FIAB) of Gothenburg. It is registered in Bermuda and classified by DnV. The facility received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in December 2010.

Valemon is a gas field located in blocks 34/11 and 34/10, due west of the Kvitebjørn field. Water depth is 135 metres. The development principle is a fixed production facility with a steel jacket, using a simplified separation process. The facility is controlled remotely from the Kvitebjørn field.

The consent applies to the period 1 August 2014 to 15 December 2014.
