Subsea UK Showcases at Rio Oil and Gas (Brazil)

Subsea UK will showcase the expertise available within the British subsea industry with its largest ever delegation of member companies at the Latin American energy exhibition, Rio Oil and Gas (September, 17 to 20).

The membership organisation’s pavilion at the Rio-based conference will feature nine UK subsea companies on a high-profile stand comprising exhibition space, reception area and meeting space, as well as onsite support from the Subsea UK team.

Funding through the Tradeshow Access Programme, run by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is available to help companies finance the costs of exhibiting in Rio de Janeiro.

Exhibitor space is now fast running out on the pavilion and Subsea UK is urging any companies wishing to get involved to contact them directly to discuss their requirements.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “The significant presence at Rio Oil and Gas reflects the importance of forging close relationships with organisations around the world.

“Collaboration and partnerships with Brazilian organisations are essential for UK companies as well as sharing the expertise, skills and technology our organisations can offer this rapidly growing market.

“As a trade body we help our members take their expertise into new regions and this major event offers the ideal platform to showcase their latest innovations to both a Brazilian and global audience.”

Among the companies featuring on the exhibition zone are: 2012 Subsea UK Global Export Award winner, Bowtech; Flexlife, an innovative, independent organisation offering specialised support to the subsea sector; major EPC-contractor, Imenco; Quadrant EPP AG, a world leader in plastic material solutions for engineers and designers; and cutting-edge ROV manufacturer, Saab Seaeye.

Also exhibiting will be Sonardyne, subsea communications specialists, Teijin Aramid who is a global leader in aramids, Tritech which specialises in the design and production of high performance acoustic sensors and UTEC, specialists in offshore marine surveys.

Held biennially at the Riocentro Convention Centre in Rio de Janeiro, Rio Oil and Gas has grown in size every year since its inception in 1982 with the most recent conference in 2010 seeing 1,300 exhibitors and 53,000 visitors from 51 countries. This is due to the high demand from organisations across the world wanting to showcase their capabilities and the growing importance of Brazil as the heart of the Latin American oil and gas industry.
