Swedegas, Kanfer Shipping in LNG MOU

Swedegas and Kanfer Shipping have signed a memorandum of understanding for collaboration in the transport of LNG by sea. 

Additionally, the two companies are looking to join forces on an LNG storage facility in the Gävle region, a joint statement issued on Tuesday reveals.

Swedegas is planning an investment in LNG infrastructure and a liquefied natural gas terminal in the Gävle region and has entered talks with Kanfer Shipping to find a solution for supplying LNG to the region.

The solution proposed by Kanfer Shipping involves delivering liquefied natural gas via barges that would serve as floating storage facilities at the port where LNG would be regasified and fed to the gas transmission system.

Kanfer Shipping will carry out a preliminary study in order to review possibilities of advancing the project.
