Sweden: Dometic Marine Presents New Gold Series Air Handler

Dometic Marine presented its new Gold Series (AU) Air Handlers for the first time at this year’s Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, which received an ‘Honorable Mention’ in this year’s IBEX Innovation Awards.

Offering a multitude of innovative features that have not previously been available in air handler units, the unique Gold Series Air Handler is set to significantly benefit boat builders and owners by eliminating rust, reducing water spillage and ensuring quicker installation.

The Gold Series Air Handler’s rust-free, anti-slosh and positive-flow composite drain pan completely eliminates rust to provide increased durability and longer life. Also designed specifically to prevent water slosh and increase drainage, the pan is angled to encourage positive drainage and also includes channels that prevent excess water from spilling with movement of the boat. Three drain locations all speed-up the removal of water that could otherwise spill, damaging interior fittings such as carpets and furniture.

The Gold Series Air Handler’s unique rotatable blower is easily rotated with a single screw adjustment making it significantly quicker to install than other units available. The blower can also be adjusted when the air handler is already installed, so no guess work on its correct position is required. To fit a variety of installation configurations, the Gold Series Air Handler is available in models which feature the valve on either the left or the right side.

Supported on rubberized cushions, the air handler makes no direct contact with the mounting surface so vibration noise is minimized. The unit’s vibration-isolation mounting hardware can be attached at a range of locations around the perimeter of the drain pan to suit the installation space available.

The Gold Series Air Handler is also available with an integrated Breathe Easy™ Air Purifier for cleaner, healthier air direct from the blower. Positioned directly in the airstream, the award-winning Breathe Easy uses ultraviolet (UV) light and photocatalytic nano-mesh technology to improve air quality while creating no ozone.
