SwissMarine Hires Diana Shipping’s Capesize

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has signed a charter contract for one of its Capesize vessels with Geneva-based SwissMarine Services.

Under the deal the company’s 179,134 dwt P. S. Palios was hired for a period of about eight to nine months.

The unit started the contract with SwissMarine Services on June 5. The vessel was hired at a gross charter rate of USD 17,500 per day.

Diana Shipping expects that the employment would generate around USD 3.94 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

The 2013-built P. S. Palios was previously chartered to Singapore’s Koch Shipping at a gross charter rate of USD 17,350 per day.
