Talisman Sinopec’s North Sea platform gets power back

Talisman Sinopec Energy UK has restored power on the Clyde platform, in the UK North Sea, after an outage earlier this week spurred evacuation of over a hundred offshore workers.

Before the evacuation on Tuesday, the platform had 178 people on board, after which 75 workers remained on board.

In an e-mail to Offshore Energy Today, Talisman Sinopec spokesperson said the power was restored late yesterday, but the cause of the outage has not been revealed.

When asked whether the workforce was still on board the platform, the spokesperson said “the personnel are remobilizing today”.

The Clyde platform, operated by Talisman Sinopec, is located 175 miles south east of Aberdeen, in approximately 80 m of water.

The eight-leg fixed steel jacket and module support frame has facilities for drilling, production, accommodation and associated utilities.
