GBS is a major natural gas field in Bongkot Project in the Gulf of Thailand. It is located in Navamindra Petroleum Area, about 200 kilometers off the coast of Songkhla province. PTTEP has executed the whole operation starting from conducting the exploration program, supervising the design of platforms, developing the petroleum field. Up to now, PTTEP can conduct the operation of this field by itself. GBS consists of Central Processing Platform, Living Quarters Platform and 6 Wellhead Platforms.

GBS has been developed since 2008. Later, the facility construction was completed. The test run of processing facility started in March this year. GBS produces natural gas at 320 MMSCFD as per the Daily Contractual Quantity (DCQ) since 15 June 2012.

Its processing production platform has a capacity of 380 MMSCFD of natural gas and 18,000 BPD of condensate. These production rates will increase overall both Bongkot North and Bongkot South production capacity to approximately 1,000 MMSCFD which signify 20% of Thailand natural gas production. It is part of PTTEP’s mission in providing sustainable energy for Thais.

PTTEP’s safety and environmental standards has been strictly applied in every operation including GBS. It is not only environmental friendly operation but also safe one. The platform was designed with safety in mind, coupled with the use of modern technology that increases the efficiency of the field.
