The Netherlands: Bakker Sliedrecht Secures Order from Selat Melaka Shipbuilding

Bakker Sliedrecht Secures Order from Selat Melaka Shipbuilding

Bakker Sliedrecht recently obtained an unique order for delivering the total electrical installation including the complete automation for a 32 000 m3 hopper dredger. For the first time in Bakker Sliedrecht`s history an order this size has been obtained for a foreign yard and foreign dredging company.

The principal is Selat Melaka Shipbuilding from Malaysia, an emerging yard which already realized many projects and still has lots of ambitious plans in future. The dredging company is Inai Kiara, founded in 1997, a large dredging company. Its fleet consists hopper dredgers and cutter dredgers.

This order is a great challenge to show the know-how and expertise. The yard has given a tight schedule.

All engineering and production activities are included. The company’s activities will end with commissioning and ready for use delivery of the electrical installation and control systems.
