The Netherlands: Vroon Offshore Services Receives New AHTS Vessel

The Netherlands - Vroon Offshore Services Receives New AHTS Vessel in Its Fleet

Today, Wednesday 16 November 2011, Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) took delivery of VOS Artemis from the Fujian Southeast Shipyard in China. VOS Artemis is an “A class” anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel. She is the fourth in a series of six vessels being built for Vroon at this yard, with the remaining two vessels scheduled for delivery in the coming months.

The “A-class” vessel is slightly more advanced than the “H-type” and “T-Type” AHTS vessels also operated by Vroon, having a bigger bow thruster (8 MT) and stern thruster (6 MT). Consequently, these vessels have improved manoeuvring and station-keeping capabilities. The VOS Artemis has a DP-1 notation.

In a ceremony held at the Shipyard in July, VOS Artemis was christened by Ms Monika Krogulska, partner of Mr Rob Heijliger, Regional Head Asia Asset Based Finance, ING Bank N.V., Singapore Branch.

VOS Artemis is expected to leave the yard early next week and will be operated by Vroon Offshore Services Pte Ltd in Singapore.
