The Parbuckling of Costa Concordia Enters Final Stage

The parbuckling of the Costa Concordia wreck entered into the final stage. The hull has been rotated for about 24 degrees from its original position.

The tension activities were finished. At this point the salvage operation will continue by releasing the water into the sponsons that will rotate the wreck by another 40 degrees.

The salvage officials reported that the operation of sponson flooding is estimated to take about 3 hours.

No spillage has been reported.
