The World’s Largest Yacht Floats

German-based luxury yacht builder Lurssen has launched the world’s largest yacht, the 180m long Azzam. With an estimated gross tonnage of 14,000GT and a price tag of $520 million, the Azzam is sailing into the record books.

She left her drydock 11 month after her transfer last year and only 28 months from cutting steel! She will be a landmark for the next few months while Lurssen team will be conducting the trials and final detailing, preparing her for delivery.

Besides being the world’s biggest the new mega-yacht will be among world’s fastest. The 94,000 horsepower superyacht will be capable of reaching speeds up to 30 knots (35mph).

Azzam, designed by Nauta Yachts, truly represents a milestone in yachting history.
