Tidal Transit Secures Contract for Ginny Louise Crew Transfer Vessel

Having recently been awarded an 18 month charter contract for its latest passenger transfer vessel, Tia Elizabeth, Tidal Transit has now won a second 18 month contract for Ginny Louise, which was the first vessel to join what is now the rapidly expanding Tidal Transit fleet.

As this second long term contract has also been awarded by Scira Offshore Energy, Ginny Louise will continue to work alongside her sister vessel Tia Elizabeth servicing the operation and maintenance needs of the 88 offshore wind turbines of the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm, which is located between 17-23 kms off the coast of North Norfolk.

Tidal Transit Commercial Director Leo Hambro said: “This is excellent news in a month when we have also announced that we have commissioned the construction of Tidal Transit’s fourth vessel.”

He continued: “Energy, and in particular the cost of renewable energy, is the subject of much discussion at the moment. If the cost of producing electricity from offshore wind is to be reduced, the rapidly growing number of wind turbines off the UK coast need to be regularly maintained to be able to achieve their planned power output.

“I am delighted that the performance of our rugged, high specification vessels to transfer turbine technicians to site, and between turbines, for regular planned maintenance activity has been such that Scira has the confidence to award Tidal Transit a second long term charter contract.”

Tidal Transit’s Eden Rose is also currently on a short term charter contract with Scira.
