Tokyo Gas Completes Construction on Chiba-Kashima Line (Japan)
Tokyo Gas said it has today completed the construction of “Chiba-Kashima Line”.
The Line will start supplying gas to customers from the middle of March onward.
The Line has been constructed since July, 2006, with a view to promoting and expanding the use of natural gas in both the northeastern part of Chiba Pref. and the southeastern part of Ibaraki Pref., where a supply infrastructure of natural gas has not been installed yet. The completion of the Line has enabled the industrial customers along the Line and in Kashima waterfront industrial zone in Ibaraki Pref., and the surrounding gas suppliers, to make use of natural gas.
With the completion of the Line, Tokyo Gas has obtained the high-pressure pipeline network of approximately 897 km, located mainly in metropolitan area.
Tokyo Gas aims at installing and expanding the optimal infrastructure in line with the promotion and expansion of natural gas posted in “Challenge 2020 Vision”, and keeps expansion, maintenance and management of pipeline network with the first priority on safety, in order to ensure that customers can use gas safe and secure, the company said in a statement.
