Video: Naming Ceremony of the World’s Largest Containership

Maersk Line’s newest vessel, the first of the Triple-E series, was named last Friday in a ceremony at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard in Okpo, South Korea.

Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla, who is the chairman of the Moller Foundation, had the honour of naming the first vessel.

Almi Tankers S.A. announced that on June 14th, 2013, the first VLCC of its newbuilding project, the M/T Hydra Voyager, was delivered to her owners at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering’s (DSME) Okpo Shipyard.

Huisman Unveils New Series of Large Offshore Cranes, The Netherlands

Liebherr Heavy Lift Offshore Crane for New Installation Vessel Vidar

In June, components weighing up to 420 tonnes each for Liebherr’s new heavy lift offshore crane CAL 45000-1200 Litronic® were loaded from Liebherr MCCtec Rostock GmbH onto two ships in the port of Rostock. These components were subsequently transported to the Crist shipyard in the Polish town of Gdynia.

Judgement on Bergen vs. Stocznia Gdansk Expected Mid-July

Bergen Group ASA has ongoing arbitration proceedings against the hull yard Stocznia Gdansk SA in Poland. The arbitration is related to the contract for the construction of the hull of the first cruise ferry currently under completion at Bergen Group Fosen.
