Total acquires Dutch LNG supplier PitPoint

Total of France said it will acquire the Dutch LNG supplier and alternative fuel stations operator, PitPoint. 

PitPoint has a network of around 100 natural gas fueling stations, Total said in a statement, adding the acquisition will enable the group to significantly increase its presence in the natural gas vehicle fuel sector.

In particular, Total intends to serve trucking and professional transport companies, and implement its plans to establish a network of 350 natural gas vehicle fueling stations in Europe by 2022.

“Following the acquisition of Lampiris in 2016, this acquisition is part of Total’s strategy to expand its low-carbon businesses,” said Patrick Pouyanné, chairman and CEO of Total.

PitPoint operates compressed natural gas (CNG), biogas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen and electric vehicle charging points.

The company currently one LNG station in Zwole and expects to complete eight more stations int he next two years.
