Transas Shares Its Expertise on Simulation-Based Training at seminar in Turkey

In March, Transas Marine Black Sea participated in the conference “Use of information and communication technologies in new areas in maritime industry” held by Dokuz Eylül University in Turkey.

The conference gathered information and communication technology professionals to discuss IT trends in the maritime industry. Education of maritime specialists plays an important role in this process, therefore a paper on “Simulation-Based Training Technology in the Maritime Communication sector, GMDSS” presented by Vitaly Vakula, Transas Simulation Business Division was well received.

Vitaly Vakula, Area Sales Manager, Transas Simulation Business Division, comments: “Information and communication technologies evolve very quickly. GMDSS training with the use of simulators is undoubtedly considered to be of extreme importance in the majority of maritime institutes. Simulators can significantly reduce training time and expand the range of courses offered. Using real equipment in simulation scenarios allows for training in difficult tasks, where onboard training is expensive or is associated with danger to people, assets and the environment.”
