Trelleborg Premieres at AOG (Australia)

Trelleborg’s offshore operation will, for the first time, attend the Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition in Perth, Australia and showcase its latest advances in subsea solutions.

Located on stand B5, the organization will present a number of advancements in its flowline protection solutions including its T-Strake, a new vortex induced vibration (VIV) system as well as subsea flow control developments, including its entire line of Vikotherm™ insulation materials, the company informed.

Key Account Manager within Trelleborg Offshore, Iain Green, commented: “In increasingly rougher seas, pipelines unsupported over free spans are prone to VIV fatigue. This is a growing concern as VIV can lead to serious issues such as pipe girth weld failure or premature pipe malfunction. We designed our T-Strake flowline protection to suppress the effects of these vibrations on pipes to avoid damage and downtime.

“Similarly, our Vikotherm™ insulation range ensures superior joint strength, reduced thermal conductivity and increased heat capacity, as well as flexibility and resistance to hydrostatic collapse down to more than 3,000 meters. As environments offshore grow harsher and exploration is going deeper, the need for thermal insulation solutions to perform in these extreme environments becomes increasingly more important.

“As first time participants in this exhibition, we look forward to giving visitors a firsthand look at our innovative subsea solutions for this developing geographic region.”
