Turkey: Akdeniz Shipyard Bags Pontoon Ro-Ro Barge Contract

Akdeniz Shipyard, established in 2007 in the southern part of Turkey by Ceyhan-Yumurtalık region, and an unnamed French Company recently signed a contract for the construction of a Pontoon Ro-Ro Barge.

The contract was signed on June 5th and the delivery of the vessel is scheduled for August 2013.

Akdeniz Shipyard holds the distinction of being the largest shipyard of Turkey and Eastern Mediterranean in terms of area and capacity. Having a total area of 175.000 m2 the shipyard aims for the shipbuilding and repair/maintenance services.
