Two Australian staffing companies enter merger talks

Programmed Group, an Australian provider of staffing, maintenance and facility management services, has entered into merger talks with a labour hire and recruitment company, SKILLED Group. 

Programmed confirmed today that SKILLED is interested in entering into further discussions with Programmed regarding a potential combination of the two businesses.

According to the press release, Programmed believes that there is considerable merit in combining the businesses for both groups of shareholders and customers. However, both companies have stated that there is no certainty that these discussions will result in a transaction.

“The outcome of the review will ensure that SKILLED is well positioned to continue to grow and compete in a dynamic and changing labour environment, either as a standalone business or as part of any merged group,” SKILLED said in the press release.

According to the company, planning for the implementation of the strategy is underway.
