UAE: Gulmar Appoints New CEO

 

Gulmar Energy S.A. (Gulmar) has appointed Mr. Patrick Chapalain ([email protected]) as its new Chief Executive Officer. Patrick has a worldwide experience in the subsea market with EPCI projects, and has been involved in all types of shallow and deep water offshore construction works, saturation and air diving works, IRM, flexible and rigid pipe laying, deep water ROV operations, deep and shallow mooring systems installation and floating systems hook‐ups.

His career began as a Field Engineer on various construction vessels at Stolt, Comex, Seaway and then in subsea project management. Over the past 8 years, he has assumed a number of line management positions, culminating with the last 4 years as a Director then Vice President at SBM Offshore.

Mr. Mathieu Guillemin, Board Member of Gulmar, said: “We are delighted to have attracted someone with Patrick’s experience in the Offshore Subsea market. Biography

M. Chapalain was Vice President, Operations, at SBM Atlantia since 2009, based in Houston, USA. He has been in the SBM Offshore group since 1999, where he has assumed different positions from field engineer to Director of the Service Division. Previously he worked as a Field Engineer at Stolt, Comex, Seaway in France from 1996 to 1998 and prior to that at Dukim (Dumez Nigeria).

Patrick is a graduate of the Ecole Superieure d’Ingenieurs de Marseille, France. He is married with two children.
