UDS Kicks Off New Vessel Construction

Singapore-based Ultra Deep Solutions (UDS) has kicked off its Well Intervention new build program with the construction of a new vessel.

According to the company’s latest update, the first vessel in the program will be a ‘hybrid’ ship of Salt Ship design.

The vessel, to be named ‘Rembrandt’, will be 162 meters long with a beam of 34 meters, with the integrated energy storage power.

The vessel will be built over a period of 34-36 months to meet the schedule of the end client.

It will feature a 600-1000 t Huisman hybrid crane and the new Huisman 3 in 1 tower.

Rembrandt’s 2700 m2 open deck space will have the capacity for 10 reels of flexible.

The vessel is the first of five hybrid ships that UDS plans to build over the coming months.

“These vessels will be very efficient on fuel/electrical power to meet the oil and gas companies future expectations,” UDS said.
