UK ABPmer to Ensure Coastal Processes Assessments for Gibraltar Coastal Projects

ABPmer, a leading UK marine consultancy, has been commissioned by AMEC Environment & Infrastructure UK Limited to undertake coastal process impact assessments of two coastal projects on the Gibraltar coast.

The assessments will form part of the Environmental Statements being prepared by AMEC for HM Government Gibraltar in relation to a reclamation scheme at Western Beach and a coastal protection scheme at Sandy Bay.

Heidi Roberts, Head of Coastal and Offshore Processes at ABPmer said: “We are delighted to be providing specialist technical input in the form of Coastal Hydrodynamics and Geomorphology chapters of the Environmental Statements.

The work includes preparing a baseline and conceptual understanding of the physical processes as well as defining and assessing the potential impact pathways of the schemes’ design and construction methodology.”

ABPmer is a recognised specialist in coastal and marine processes and enjoys a wealth of EIA experience in the UK and overseas, contributing to and leading numerous regional and project level EIA and Habitat Regulations Assessments.
