Leading international service company Expro has received a commendation from a major customer for maintaining an extremely high level of safety for the past year.

Chevron has thanked Expro for an exemplary incident-free workplace for the past 12 months, covering work across its global operations.

Expro works with Chevron on many contracts around the world, including the UK, the US and Africa.

Chevron’s chief procurement officer, Leo Lonergan, said: “Achieving safety excellence is extremely important for Chevron and the contractors we partner with. With Expro’s outstanding commitment to safety and operational discipline in 2010, we made another step forward in our journey to zero incidents and zero injuries.

Maintaining an incident-free workplace over the past 12 months is an excellent accomplishment. Thank you for your strong focus to ensure everyone in our workforce returns home safely to their families each day.

I ask that you keep safety a top priority and maintain your outstanding operational discipline by continuing to do every task, every time, the right way. I believe that management’s credibility, accountability and commitment really do matter in achieving safety excellence. So, please continue to lead by example, reinforce the right behaviours, communicate consistently and clearly define expectations with your team.

As our business partner, we thank you for sharing our concern for the safety of our workforce. Working together, we can achieve and maintain safety excellence. You have demonstrated ‘Zero is attainable’.”

Expro’s chief executive officer Charles Woodburn said: “We are very pleased to receive this commendation from Chevron, which recognises the tremendous effort by all those involved. Our teams across the world are committed to delivering excellent safety performance and high-quality service of this kind to all our customers, to promote and maintain safe working practices wherever we operate.”
