UK Maersk Training Organises Free OW Course

The unemployed people in the North East England have been given a chance to take advantage of the expanding offshore wind industry.

Namely, Maersk Training, based in Newcastle, has announced that they will offer a free training course in working at height, manual handling, sea survival and fire awareness which are required for working on offshore wind farms, reports Bdaily news portal.

“Encouragingly, the offshore and wind energy sectors are expanding at a very fast pace so there are countless opportunities out there for people seeking employment and looking to get into a thriving industry but learning these safety skills is a vital prerequisite,” Sean Green, Instructor at Maersk Training pointed out.

“This is a great chance to offer people who might not otherwise be financially able to improve their prospects, an opportunity to get their foot on the ladder and gain a valued qualification,“ he added.

The first course will begin on 1st July and will be available for enrollment of up to 40 people.
