UK: Marine Technology Centre Officially Open

Sunseeker announced that the Marine Technology Centre based at the Bournemouth and Poole College was officially opened on January 24 by Wayne Moore, Operations Director of Sunseeker International.

As well as learning more about the Marine Apprenticeships and higher level qualifications, guests had the opportunity to view the students’ work, look around the new centre and watch both the apprentices and lectures in action using the latest state of the art equipment.

Wayne Moore commented, “One of the great things about the apprentice programme is how it can now seamlessly lead into further training. As a matter of fact, a number of our ex-apprentices are amongst the 24 Sunseeker International employees currently studying for an Engineering HNC. By continually developing and investing in our workforce, we can retain our competitive advantage and ensure talented young people in the UK have the opportunity for employment, education and more importantly, an exciting and prosperous career with Sunseeker International. The move to Bournemouth and Poole College will ensure that government funding for apprentice training will be re invested for the benefit of the students and the local marine community in Dorset.”
