UK: Rampion Wind Farm Faces More Obstacles

UK Rampion Wind Farm Faces More Obstacles

E.On’s proposal for the offshore wind farm in the English Channel has faced many hurdles. The Rampion wind farm faced its latest obstacle on Wednesday when the country’s leading governing bodies picked apart the project’s pre-application, writes The Argus.

Before making the final application, the company will need to make considerable changes to the proposal.

The hearing continued the next day with the focus on the wind farm connection to the power station in Bolney.

One of the supporters, Mr. John Kapp from Hove, expressed his opinion by saying that he supports the wind farm but objects “the cabling of 100 or so turbines to Bolney. I think they should be cabling them to the coastal sub- stations.”

The final decision on 36km cable connection and the rest of the project proposal is expected to be made by summer 2014.
