UK: Royal HaskoningDHV Awarded Perpetuus Tidal Energy Centre Contract

Isle of Wight Council has awarded a tidal energy development contract to the Royal HaskoningDHV UK Ltd.

This follows a special meeting of the Isle of Wight Council’s Cabinet, which took place on Thursday, 25th of July, with the aim to develop plans for the groundbreaking Solent Ocean Energy Centre project.

Under the contract, Royal HaskoningDHV is responsible for the site surveys and front end engineering design.

The contract is to run from July 2013 for a period of 17 months with the option to extend for a further period of up to 12 months at the sole discretion of the Council.

The total value of this project is GBP 1,627,601 which could create around 600 jobs over a period of 20 years.
