UK: Vroon Announces Naming Ceremony for Two Vessels

Vroon announce that the namegiving ceremonies for the VOS Premier and VOS Venturer took place on  Monday 2 May 2011, in Aberdeen, UK. The VOS Premier was christened by Mrs Gretchen Werner, wife of Mr Matt Werner, Vice President Operations, BP North Sea. The VOS Venturer was christened by Mrs Rosalind Parker, wife of Mr Russell Parker, Senior Director, Ship Finance, Wholesale Markets, Lloyds Banking Group.

VOS Premier, the third platform-supply vessel (PSV) in a series of four vessels built at Cochin Shipyard in India, is a standard Rolls Royce PSV and an identical sister to VOS Precious and VOS Prelude. VOS Venturer is a field-support vessel, built at the Astilleros Zamakona Shipyard, Pasaia in Spain.

Both vessels are currently operating in the North Sea on charter to BP. They are part of an arrangement between BP Exploration Operating Company Ltd. and the Vroon Offshore Services companies in Den Helder and Aberdeen, involving two PSVs and two emergency response and rescue vessels.

VOS Premier and VOS Venturer are valued additions to Vroon’s growing fleet of modern vessels providing a range of emergency response and cargo support to the offshore industry.
