United States Senator for Rhode Island Kicks-Off Energy Ocean International

Energy Ocean International was host to the United States Senator for Rhode Island, Sheldon Whitehouse, who kicked-off the 10th Annual Conference today. The Energy Ocean International Conference and Exhibition, which will be held June 10-12, 2013 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island, has been the leading event for the offshore renewable energy industry, covering developments in wind, wave and tidal energy.

In his opening remarks, Senator Whitehouse discussed the latest offshore renewable energy developments in Rhode Island and the impacts on local development. “Rhode Island has continued to be a leader in offshore renewable energy development” says Stephen R. McCollum, Show Director.

Following the Senator’s opening remarks there was the Opening General Session with a Technology Roundtable on What’s New for Ocean Energy with speakers from leading organizations including Flumill, Schottel Tidal, Environment Coastal & Offshore and Resolute Marine Energy, Inc.
