USACE, Manhattan to Host Workshop for Levee Feasibility Study

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the city of Manhattan are hosting a Public Workshop on April 17, 2013, in Manhattan, Kan., from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Manhattan Fire Station located at 2000 Denison Ave.

The meeting offers the general public, agencies and stakeholders an opportunity to see and hear information about the existing Manhattan Levee and status of the levee feasibility study evaluating improvements. The meeting also provides a good early opportunity to comment on the conceptual plans for addressing long-term levee reliability.

The first 30 minutes of the meeting will include a Corps of Engineers and city of Manhattan presentation and overview of the current levee feasibility study. The remaining 90 minutes are reserved for informal discussion with the public at various information stations to include displays and other exhibits related to the levee.
