Venture Global LNG raises $55 million

Venture Global LNG on Tuesday closed the fourth round of equity investment raising additional US$55 million for its proposed liquefied natural gas export projects in Louisiana. 

According to the Venture Global’s statement, the additional capital brings the total capital raised to date to over $265 million.

Venture Global LNG currently has two liquefied natural export projects in the pipeline.

The first project includes a 10 mtpa Calcasieu Pass facility located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, south of the city of Lake Charles at the intersection of the Calcasieu Ship Channel and the Gulf of Mexico.

The second LNG export facility is being developed in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana on an approximately 630-acre site at river mile marker 55 on the Mississippi River, located 30 miles south of New Orleans, Louisiana, with a proposed export capacity of 20 mtpa.

Full commencement of operations at the Calcasieu Pass LNG facility is expected in the fourth quarter of 2019 while the first phase operations at the Plaquemines LNG project are expected in the first quarter of 2020, according to the company’s website.
