VIDEO: Anadarko installs Heidelberg compressor modules

Anadarko Petroleum, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company, has reported that construction continues to progress for its Heidelberg spar as its compressor modules have been installed onshore in Ingleside, Texas.

The company published a video showing the installation process of the Heidelberg compressor modules.

Heidelberg is Anadarko’s second spar in a “design one, build two” series that began with the Lucius spar, which is now producing on location in the Gulf of Mexico.

According to Anadarko’s Project Manager, Colin Ocker, these compressor modules for Lucius were installed offshore, but due to “design one, build two” approach, the company was able to optimize the design and the execution and installed it on land instead of offshore which saved a lot of time.

The company also recently completed the upending of its Heidelberg floating truss spar in 5,300 feet of water off the coast of Louisiana.

Replicating Lucius, the Heidelberg spar will have a capacity of 80,000 barrels of oil per day. According to Anadarko, Heidelberg is expected to achieve first oil in 2016.
