The high amount of plastic that floats freely in the oceans forming gyres, which endanger sea life, affects food chain and causes over a billion US dollar worth vessel damages per  year.

Boyan Slat delivered a  speech during a recent TEDx talk at his University, where he presented an innovative plan on how to remove plastic garbage from the oceans.
