Warnemünde cruise terminal at German Rostock Port welcomed this Wednesday two large cruise ships – Holland America Line’s newest ship ms Koningsdam and Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse.

For the first time, the ms Koningsdam was heading to the mouth of river Warnow on its way from Copenhagen to Tallinn.

Christened last month in Rotterdam, the Koningsdam is the first of a new Pinnacle class of ships. It is Holland America Line’s 14th and the largest ship.

The Koningsdam can accommodate 2,650 passengers and has a length of almost 300 meters.

During the summer, its homeport is Amsterdam.

Built in 2010, the Celebrity Eclipse is the third of Celebrity Cruises’ Solstice-class ships.

It was visiting Rostock Port sailing from Zeebrugge to St. Petersburg. The Celebrity Eclipse is scheduled to make a stop in this German port several times this summer, according to Rostock Port.

The cruise ship features a length of 317.14 meters and has an accommodation space for 2,850 passengers.

During this season, Rostock Port said it expects 185 port calls by 34 cruise liners.
