VIDEO: DolWin Beta Platform Leaves Norway


DolWin beta platform sailed out on August 1st, 2015 from Haugesund, Norway, and it is on its way to the German North Sea.

The platform will house the converter station for the DolWin2 HVDC link being executed by ABB. The link will have the capacity to transmit 916 megawatts (MW) of clean power into the German grid.

With 101 metres in length, 74 metres in width and 90 metres in height, the platform weighs 23.000 tonnes and is one of the largest converter platforms in the world.
