VIDEO: Goliat FPSO en route to Norway

Eni has published a video that captures its Goliat FPSO being towed on board Dockwise Vanguard transport vessel and its subsequent sail-away from South Korea to Norway. 

The Floating and Production Storage Offloading Unit (FPSO) Goliat was designed by the Norwegian company Sevan Marine in Arendal and built at the HHI yard in South Korea.

On February 14, 2015 the FPSO destined to operate at the Goliat oilfield in the Barents Sea left from its construction yard in Ulsan in Korea on board the Dockwise Vanguard, a semi-submersible vessel and the only one of its kind in the world.

The voyage, which will last around 60 days, will take the platform to Hammerfest, the operating base in the north of Norway, at the beginning of April.

According to Eni, the Sevan 1000-type FPSO is the largest and most sophisticated cylindrical production and storage plant in the world and has been constructed using the most advanced technology to meet the technical-environmental challenges of operating in Arctic conditions.
