German shipbuilder Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) has launched the second of the two 11,000 dwt Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo) ships for Siem Group.

The ship has been named Maria Gracia Onorato at a ceremony held on August 2, 2018 and will be chartered in by Italian shipping company Onorato Armatori once delivered.

It is a sister ship to Alf Polak, which was launched in May this year at FSG. Alf Polak is currently undergoing final touches before it heads out toward the Mediterranean later this year.

The RoRos feature 209.8 meters in length overall, 26 meters in beam, and have a draft of 6.5. meters each.

The two newbuilds are scheduled for delivery in October and November 2018, respectively.

Once completed, Onorato Armatori plans to deploy the RoRo ferries on routes between Sardinia and Sicily.

They will be the largest RoRo ships in the Mediterranean, as they can carry up to 310 semi-trailers, according to FSG.
