VIDEO: Ovation of the Seas Shows Off in Hamburg

Royal Caribbean’s brand new Quantum class cruise ship Ovation of the Seas has arrived to Blohm & Voss’s dock in Hamburg for its finishing touches.

The 168,666-gross ton vessel moored at the shipbuilder’s dock on March 18 fresh from sea-trials.

The cruise ship, which was constructed in 18 months, was floated out of Meyer Werft’s building dock only a month ago.

The 4,200-passenger ship will be officially launched in April 2016 when it kicks off its 53-day Global Odyssey on its way from Southampton to Tianjin, China.

Ovation of the Seas is scheduled to start its maiden sailing season in China from Tianjin in June 2016.

With the delivery of the new vessel, the Miami-based cruise line giant Royal Caribbean Cruises will own three Quantum-class ships, while two more are under construction at Meyer Werft.
