Hyundai – Vinashin Shipyard Lays Keel of 37,000 DWT Bulk Carrier

On 04th June 2012, the Keel Laying Ceremony for Hull No. S071 was held at Hyundai – Vinashin Shipyard’s dry Dock No. 2 with the attendance of representative of the ship owner, Classification Society (ABS) and the Shipyard.

S071 is the first of the six 37,000 DWT Bulk Carrier vessels ordered by Densa Denizcilik Sanayi e Ticaret AS, Turkey.

The vessel has 187m in length, 27.8 m in breadth and 15.6m in depth.

As scheduled, the launching ceremony will be carried out at the end of October, 2012.

Hyundai – Vinashin Shipyard cooperates as a shipyard that provides ship repair, conversion, and shipbuilding services. It repairs and converts bulk carriers, crude oil/product tankers, containerships, pure car and truck carriers, LNG/LPG carriers, and dredgers/barges, as well as offshore projects, such as crane barges, floating platforms, and jack up rings. The company was founded in 1996 and is based in Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. Hyundai – Vinashin Shipyard Co., Ltd. operates as a subsidiary of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.
