Vitol, GDF Suez to provide six LNG cargoes for Japanese utilities

Two of the world’s biggest LNG buyers, Japanese utilities, Chubu Electric and Tokyo Electric Power are expected to buy 6 cargoes from Vitol and GDF Suez in their first joint tender.

According to traders, Vitol and GDF Suez are both expected to supply three cargoes each, reports Reuters.

Tender was issued in December last year and was the first time, since agreeing cooperation in order to reduce procurement costs, that the two companies have jointly tendered for LNG.

As earlier reported, 60 invitations have been sent to global LNG suppliers on December 12.
