Vroon's Livestock Carriers Almost Done

Construction of livestock carriers for Dutch owner, Vroon B.V is in full swing at COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard.

COSCO (Guangdong) has undertaken a total of 12 newbuilding projects for Vroon, among which are six livestock carriers, four of which have already been delivered on schedule, and six PX121 platform supply vessels.

On June 24, the shipyard delivered a 4,500-sqm livestock carrier to  Vroon. This is the fourth livestock carrier the yard has delivered to the owner.

On June 23 and July 26, the steel-cuttings for the fifth and sixth livestock carriers were held in the yard. The vessels measure 134.8 metres in LOA, 19.6 metres in breadth, 14.8 metres in depth and have a design draft of 6.8 metres.

Each vessel can accommodate up to 3,000 head of cattle.

Based on previous experience, COSCO (Guangdong) continued to optimise their building techniques and strengthen project management to ensure the project proceeded smoothly and with maximum efficiency.
