Wagenborg, Oliveira & CSI Team Up on Shore Support Project

Wagenborg, Oliveira & CSI joined forces to install a reliability software application on board MV Lauwersborg, the first vessel in line to get a shore support interfacing system.

Oliveira together with their partner James Fisher/Mimic (UK) developed a program that consolidates and analyses specific condition data, identifying potential failures and recommending corrective actions. CSI Control Systems provided a cost-effective solution interfacing with the existing sensors and to supply the signals to the Oliveira system, without interrupting current systems on board.

The safe and efficient use of sea-going vessels is high on today’s agenda for owners and ship managers. The cry for reduced energy consumption and overall cost reduction makes the installation and use of new technology systems inevitable. Platform Shore Support is a unique network of ship-owners, suppliers, shipyards and government that aims to increase vessels operational availability and capability by collective power of SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) and innovative ICT application.

Oliveira provides reliability engineering and condition based monitoring (CBM) solutions in marine sectors ranging from the military to cruise fleets.

CSI Control Systems is one of the founding fathers of the current generation of alarm and monitoring systems for the shipping industry. The portfolio consists of over 3500 vessels of all trades and sizes around the world.
