Finish engine manufacturer Wärtsila on Thursday confirmed the contract with Höegh LNG for the latter’s first floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) conversion project.

The scope of supply for the project comprises the water glycol regasification module, the water glycol /seawater heaters and pumps, Wärtsilä said in its statement.

According to Wärtsilä, the regasification system is 15 percent smaller and lighter than the propane-based system.

The company had already supplied eight regasification systems to Höegh LNG for previous projects.

Delivery under the contract is scheduled for autumn 2017, with Höegh LNG planning to have the FSRU conversion project complete by end 2017.
