Wave Energy Scotland (WES) is organizing a webinar and a brokerage event in support of its latest funding call.

The webinar will provide potential applicants with an opportunity to hear about WES, the call itself and to pose questions to the team, WES informed.

The third funding call issued by WES is focused on investigating whether it is possible to make a step change impact in the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) by constructing typical WEC devices from alternative materials.

Therefore, WES is inviting proposals relating to material categories which include hybrid structures using rotational moulding of polymers, elastomers, concretes and other alternative materials that could provide a step change in LCOE.

Also, WES is organizing a brokerage event where potential applicants will have the opportunity to meet members of the Scottish industry and investigate new partnerships or collaborations at the brokerage event.

The webinar will be held on July 22, followed by a brokerage event scheduled for August 9, 2016, in Edinburgh. Both the webinar and brokerage event require registration.

WES is a subsidiary of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) created to advance wave energy sector in Scotland.

It is fully funded by the Scottish Government, which has allocated budget of £10 million for the period to the end of March 2017.
