WES sets up webinar for novel WEC call clarifications

Wave Energy Scotland (WES) is holding an information webinar next week to provide details on its latest project call for novel wave energy converters.

The aim of the webinar is to enable potential applicants clarifications of any points on the programme stages.

The webinar will be held on June 18, 2015, at 09:30 (GMT).

The funding call, issued on June 11 by Highlands and Islands Enterprise on behalf of WES, will award technology development contracts for:

  • New concepts which have been through initial feasibility work, with data confirming the scientific, technical and engineering research,
  • Pre-existing devices with significant configuration changes which improve performance,
  • Projects that will satisfy the long term aims and objectives of Wave Energy Scotland and will have potential to produce a scale prototype device.

In addition to the webinar, WES is organizing a brokerage event that will take place on July 2, 2015, and whose aim is to grant potential applicants the opportunity to meet members of Scottish industry and investigate partnerships.

EMEC and FloWave confirmed their attendance to the brokerage event, following the yesterday’s announcement that the two testing centers are working together to support applicants to the call.

Both events require registration.
