WFW: GPH Acquires Stakes in Three Cruise Terminals in Italy

Turkey-based cruise port operator Global Ports Holding (GPH) has acquired stakes in companies managing three cruise terminals in Italy, previously owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises, Aloschi & Bassani and Bassani Ravenna, law firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) informed.

The cruise terminals in question are Cagliari (Sardinia), Catania (Sicily) and Ravenna (Emilia-Romagna).

Royal Caribbean will retain a minority stake in all three companies and Cagliari, Catania and Ravenna ports will remain part of Royal Caribbean’s cruise itineraries, according to WFW.

WFW advised GPH on new terminal acquisitions, following that of “two significant stakes in Venice’s cruise terminal in July 2016.”

Founded in 2004, GPH operates a portfolio of ten ports in seven countries in the Mediterranean and Asia-Pacific regions, including commercial port operations in Turkey and Montenegro.
