The company signed an agreement to purchase MV Arklow Rover and MV Arklow Resolve.

Although the seller of the ships has not been disclosed by Wilson, VesselsValue’s data shows that both ships are owned by Ireland-based Arklow Shipping.

The 2004-built ship pair is expected to be acquired during the first quarter of 2020. Once the acquisition is completed, both bulkers will be given Wilson names.

“The acquisition underpins Wilson’s long-term positive outlook on the market and is the company’s second investment in the 5,000 dwt segment in a short time,” the company said.

Last month, Wilson made its entry into the 5,000 dwt segment by buying its first two vessels of this size. The 2008-built Nicole C and the 2007-built Lauren C will also be added to Wilson’s fleet in Q1 2020.
