Wind Turbines to Affect Submarines (UK)

Offshore wind turbines could pose a threat to the Britain’s nuclear submarine fleet said the Ministry of Defence chiefs, reports Scotsman.

Wind turbine blades affect sonar images to the level of distorting and impeding visibility what could result in a submarine collision or running aground.

Outer Firth of Clyde was selected for the offshore wind development by the Scottish Government, through which submarines are accessing their bases.
